Chapter 104: Bharata Beseeches Rāma to Rule the Kingdom
Text 2.104.26
चतुर्दशसमाः सौम्य दण्डकारण्यमाश्रितः।
उपभोक्ष्ये त्वहं दत्तं भागं पित्रा महात्मना॥
caturdaśa-samāḥ saumya daṇḍakāraṇyam āśritaḥ
upabhokṣye tv ahaṁ dattaṁ bhāgaṁ pitrā mahātmanā
caturdaśa-samāḥ = for fourteen years; saumya = gentle Bharata; daṇḍaka-araṇyam = in Daṇḍakāraṇya; āśritaḥ = by residing; upabhokṣye tu = will enjoy; aham = I; dattam = given; bhāgam = the share; pitrā = by Our father; mahātmanā = a great soul.
Gentle Bharata, by residing in Daṇḍakāraṇya for fourteen years, I will enjoy the share given by Our father, a great soul.
