Chapter 105: Rāma Consoles Bharata With Spiritual Instructions

भृत्यानां भरणात्सम्यक्प्रजानां परिपालनात्।
अर्थादानाच्च धर्मेण पिता नस्त्रिदिवं गतः॥
bhṛtyānāṁ bharaṇāt samyak prajānāṁ paripālanāt
arthādānāc ca dharmeṇa pitā nas tridivaṁ gataḥ
bhṛtyānām = his servants; bharaṇāt = because he maintained; samyak = properly; prajānām = his subjects; paripālanāt = protected; artha-ādānāt = accumulated artha; ca = and; dharmeṇa = through dharma; pitā = father; naḥ = Our; tridivam = to heavens; gataḥ = has gone.
Because he maintained his servants, protected his subjects properly, and accumulated artha through dharma, Our father has gone to heavens.1
1 Rāmāyaṇa-bhūṣaṇa: dharmeṇa karādi-grahaṇāt.
Daśaratha accumulated artha through dharma, that is, through taxation.
