Chapter 105: Rāma Consoles Bharata With Spiritual Instructions
Text 2.105.35

इष्ट्वा बहुविधैर्यज्ञैर्भोगांश्चावाप्य पुष्कलान्।
उत्तमं चायुरासाद्य स्वर्गतः पृथिवीपतिः॥

iṣṭvā bahu-vidhair yajñair bhogāṁś cāvāpya puṣkalān
uttamaṁ cāyur āsādya svar-gataḥ pṛthivī-patiḥ

iṣṭvā = having performed; bahu-vidhaiḥ = several kinds of; yajñaiḥ = fire sacrifices; bhogān ca = enjoyments; avāpya = having attained; puṣkalān = excellent; uttamam ca = a relatively longer; āyuḥ = span of life; āsādya = having attained; svaḥ-gataḥ = reached the heavens; pṛthivī-patiḥ = the king.

Having performed several kinds of fire sacrifices, having attained a relatively longer span of life, having attained excellent enjoyments, the king reached the heavens.

Daśaratha’s lifespan was longer than that of his predecessor kings.
