Chapter 105: Rāma Consoles Bharata With Spiritual Instructions

स जीर्णं मानुषं देहं परित्यज्य पिता हि नः।
दैवीमृद्धिमनुप्राप्तो ब्रह्मलोकविहारिणीम्॥
sa jīrṇaṁ mānuṣaṁ dehaṁ parityajya pitā hi naḥ
daivīm ṛddhim anuprāpto brahma-loka-vihāriṇīm
saḥ1 jīrṇam = an old; mānuṣam = human; deham = body; parityajya = having cast aside; pitā hi = father; naḥ = Our; daivīm = of the devas; ṛddhim = the prosperity; anuprāptaḥ = has attained; brahma-loka-vihāriṇīm = roaming in the world of Brahmā.
Having cast aside an old human body, Our father has attained the prosperity of the devas, roaming in the world of Brahmā.
1 Technical note: saḥ pitā.
The prosperity of the devas is the attainment of a celestial body and so on.
