Chapter 107: Rāma Explains why the King Gave the Kingdom to Kaikeyī
Text 2.107.18

छायां ते दिनकरभाः प्रबाधमानं वर्षत्रं भरत करोतु मूर्ध्नि शीताम्।
एतेषामहमपि काननद्रुमाणां छायां तामतिशयिनीं सुखी श्रयिष्ये।।

chāyāṁ te dinakara-bhāḥ prabādhamānaṁ
varṣatraṁ bharata karotu mūrdhni śītām
eteṣām aham api kānana-drumāṇāṁ
chāyāṁ tām atiśayinīṁ sukhī śrayiṣye

chāyām = shade; te = Your; dinakara-bhāḥ = the sunrays; prabādhamānam = obstructing; varṣatram = umbrella; bharata = Bharata; karotu = should produce; mūrdhni = on Your head; śītām = a cool; eteṣām = of these; aham api = and I; kānana-drumāṇām = forest trees; chāyām = shade; tām atiśayinīm = of the extensive; sukhī = happily; śrayiṣye = will take shelter.

Bharata, Your umbrella, obstructing the sunrays, should produce a cool shade on Your head and I will happily take shelter of the extensive shade of these forest trees.
