Chapter 113: Bharata Returns to Ayodhyā
Text 2.113.5
अदूराच्चित्रकूटस्य ददर्श भरतस्तदा।
आश्रमं यत्र स मुनिर्भरद्वाजः कृतालयः॥
adūrāc citrakūṭasya dadarśa bharatas tadā
āśramaṁ yatra sa munir bharadvājaḥ kṛtālayaḥ
adūrāt = it appeared to be not far; citrakūṭasya = from Citrakūṭa; dadarśa = saw; bharataḥ = Bharata; tadā = then; āśramam = the āśrama; yatra = where; saḥ muniḥ = the sage; bharadvājaḥ = Bharadvāja; kṛta-ālayaḥ = resided.
Bharata then saw the āśrama where the sage Bharadvāja resided. It appeared to be not far from Citrakūṭa.
Because Bharata’s mind was attracted to the sight of Citrakūṭa’s beauty, Bharadvāja Ṛṣi’s āśrama appeared to be not far from Citrakūṭa [to Him].
GLOSS. The sage’s āśrama was in Prayāga.
