Chapter 113: Bharata Returns to Ayodhyā
Text 2.113.14
निवृत्तोऽहमनुज्ञातो रामेण सुमहात्मना।
अयोध्यामेव गच्छामि गृहीत्वा पादुके शुभे॥
nivṛtto ’ham anujñāto rāmeṇa sumahātmanā
ayodhyāyām eva gacchāmi gṛhītvā pāduke śubhe
nivṛttaḥ = returning; aham = I am [now]; anujñātaḥ = with the permission of; rāmeṇa = Rāma; sumahā-ātmanā = the very great soul; ayodhyāyām eva = to Ayodhyā; gacchāmi = I am going; gṛhītvā = carrying; pāduke = sandals [of His]; śubhe = these auspicious.
With the permission of the very great soul Rāma, I am [now] returning. Carrying these auspicious sandals [of His], I am going to Ayodhyā.
