Chapter 113: Bharata Returns to Ayodhyā
Text 2.113.17

अमृतः स महाबाहुः पिता दशरथस्तव।
यस्य त्वमीदृशः पुत्रो धर्मज्ञो धर्मवत्सलः॥

amṛtaḥ sa mahā-bāhuḥ pitā daśarathas tava
yasya tvam īdṛśaḥ putro dharmajño dharma-vatsalaḥ

amṛtaḥ = is not dead; saḥ = the; mahā-bāhuḥ = mighty-armed; pitā = father; daśarathaḥ = Daśaratha; tava = Your; yasya = who has; tvam = You; īdṛśaḥ = like; putraḥ = a son; dharmajñaḥ = who knows dharma; dharma-vatsalaḥ = and who loves dharma.

Your father, the mighty-armed Daśaratha, who has a son like  You who knows dharma and who loves dharma, is not dead!

By getting a good son, Daśaratha, though dead, is [as good as] non-dead 1.
