Chapter 114: Ayodhyā’s loss of Splendor

प्रावृषि प्रविगाढायां प्रविष्टस्याभ्रमण्डलम्।
प्रच्छन्नां नीलजीमूतैर्भास्करस्य प्रभामिव॥
prāvṛṣi pravigāḍhāyāṁ praviṣṭasyābhra-maṇḍalam
pracchannāṁ nīla-jīmūtair bhāskarasya prabhām iva
prāvṛṣi pravigāḍhāyām = during heavy rains; praviṣṭasya = and when the sky entered; abhra-maṇḍalam = the sky; pracchannām = when it was covered over; nīla-jīmūtaiḥ = by blue clouds; bhāskarasya = the sun’s; prabhām = radiance; iva = Ayodhyā resembled.
Ayodhyā resembled the sun’s radiance when it was covered over by blue clouds and when the sun entered the sky during heavy rains.
