Chapter 114: Ayodhyā’s loss of Splendor

वारुणीमदगन्धश्च माल्यगन्धश्च मूर्च्छितः।
धूपितागरुगन्धश्च न प्रवाति समन्ततः॥
vāruṇī-mada-gandhaś ca mālya-gandhaś ca mūrcchitaḥ
dhūpitāgaru-gandhaś ca na pravāti samantataḥ
vāruṇī-mada-gandhaḥ ca = intoxicating fragrance of vāruṇī; mālya-gandhaḥ ca = the fragrance of flowers; mūrcchitaḥ = the pervasive; dhūpita-agaru-gandhaḥ = the fragrance of frankincense and agaru; ca = and; na = does not; pravāti = blow; samantataḥ = around here.
The pervasive intoxicating fragrance of vāruṇī, the fragrance of flowers and the fragrance of frankincense and agaru does not blow around here.
