Chapter 115: Bharata Goes to Nandigrāma
Text 2.115.12

रथस्थः स हि धर्मात्मा भरतो भ्रातृवत्सलः।
नन्दिग्रामं ययौ तूर्णं शिरस्याधाय पादुके॥

rathasthaḥ sa hi dharmātmā bharato bhrātṛ-vatsalaḥ
nandigrāmaṁ yayau tūrṇaṁ śirasy ādhāya pāduke

rathasthaḥ = stood on the chariot; saḥ hi dharma-ātmā = the dhārmika soul; bharataḥ = Bharata; bhrātṛ-vatsalaḥ = who was affectionate to His brother; nandigrāmam = for Nandigrāma; yayau = departed; tūrṇam = and quickly; śirasi = on His head; ādhāya = keeping; pāduke = Rāma’s sandals.

Keeping Rāma’s sandals on His head, the dhārmika soul Bharata who was affectionate to His brother stood on the chariot and quickly departed for Nandigrāma.
