Text 2.118.36
तां धर्षणामदूरस्थां दृष्ट्वा चात्मनि पार्थिवः।
चिन्तार्णवगतः पारं नाससादाप्लवो यथा॥
tāṁ dharṣaṇām adūrasthāṁ dṛṣṭvā cātmani pārthivaḥ
cintārṇava-gataḥ pāraṁ nāsasādāplavo yathā
tām = such; dharṣaṇām = criticism; adūrasthām = was not far; dṛṣṭvā ca = ascertained that; ātmani = from him; pārthivaḥ = the king; cintā-arṇava-gataḥ = he fell into an ocean of anxiety; pāram = the shore of that ocean; na = could not; āsasāda = reach; aplavaḥ yathā = like a man without a boat.
The king ascertained that such criticism was not far from him. He fell into an ocean of anxiety and could not reach the shore of that ocean like a man without a boat.
