Chapter 119: Rāma Departs to Daṇḍakāraṇya
Text 2.119.8
संप्रवृद्धा निशा सीते नक्षत्रसमलंकृता॥
ज्योत्स्नाप्रावरणश्चन्द्रो दृश्यतेऽभ्युदितोऽम्बरे॥८॥
saṁpravṛddhā niśā sīte nakṣatra-samalaṅkṛtā
jyotsnā-prāvaraṇaś candro dṛśyate ’bhyudito ’mbare
saṁpravṛddhā = has commenced; niśā = the night; sīte = Sītā; nakṣatra-samalaṅkṛtā = adorned with stars; jyotsnā-prāvaraṇaḥ = spreading its illumination; candraḥ = the moon; dṛśyate = can be seen; abhyuditaḥ = rising; ambare = in the sky.
Sītā, the night, adorned with stars, has commenced. The rising moon spreading its illumination in the sky can be seen.
