Chapter 119: Rāma Departs to Daṇḍakāraṇya
Text 2.119.14
प्रहृष्टस्त्वभवद्रामो लक्ष्मणश्च महारथः।।
मैथिल्याः सत्क्रियां दृष्ट्वा मानुषेषु सुदुर्लभाम्॥१४॥
prahṛṣṭas tv abhavad rāmo lakṣmaṇaś ca mahā-rathaḥ
maithilyāḥ sat-kriyāṁ dṛṣṭvā mānuṣeṣu sudurlabhām
prahṛṣṭaḥ = very happy; tu abhavat = became; rāmaḥ = Rāma; lakṣmaṇaḥ ca = and Lakṣmaṇa; mahā-rathaḥ = the great chariot-fighter; maithilyāḥ = upon Maithilī; sat-kriyām = the honor bestowed; dṛṣṭvā = upon seeing; mānuṣeṣu = by human beings; sudurlabhām = that was very difficult to be obtained.
Rāma and the great chariot-fighter Lakṣmaṇa became very happy upon seeing the honor bestowed upon Maithilī that was very difficult to be obtained by human beings.
