Chapter 119: Rāma Departs to Daṇḍakāraṇya
Text 2.119.16
तस्यां रात्र्यां व्यतीतायामभिषिच्य हुताग्निकान्॥
आपृच्छेतां नरव्याघ्रौ तापसान्वनगोचरान्॥१६॥
tasyāṁ rātryāṁ vyatītāyām abhiṣicya hutāgnikān
āpṛcchetāṁ nara-vyāghrau tāpasān vana-gocarān
tasyām = after the; rātryām = night; vyatītāyām = had passed; abhiṣicya = bathed and; huta-agnikān = who had performed their homa rituals; āpṛcchetām = took permission from; nara-vyāghrau = the two princes; tāpasān = the ascetics; vana-gocarān = who dwelt in the forest.
After the night had passed, the two princes bathed and took permission from the ascetics who dwelt in the forest and who had performed their homa rituals.
