Chapter 3: Virādha Carries Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa
Text 3.3.25
स तु स्वबलवीर्येण समुत्क्षिप्य निशाचरः।
बालाविव स्कन्धगतौ चकारातिबलौ ततः॥
sa tu sva-bala-vīryeṇa samutkṣipya niśācaraḥ
bālāv iva skandha-gatau cakārātibalau tataḥ
saḥ tu = the; sva-bala-vīryeṇa = by the strength of his prowess; samutkṣipya = lifted; niśācaraḥ = rākṣasa; bālau = They were children; iva = as if; skandha-gatau cakāra = and placed Them on his shoulders; atibalau = those two very strong [brothers]; tataḥ = then.
By the strength of his prowess, the rākṣasa then lifted those two very strong [brothers] as if They were children and placed Them on his shoulders.
It is implied that [this happened] with the consent of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa.
