Chapter 8: Śrī Rāma Departs From Sutīkṣṇa’s Āśrama
Text 3.8.5
सुखोषिताः स्म भगवंस्त्वया पूज्येन पूजिताः।
आपृच्छामः प्रयास्यामो मुनयस्त्वरयन्ति नः॥
sukhoṣitāḥ sma bhagavaṁs tvayā pūjyena pūjitāḥ
āpṛcchāmaḥ prayāsyāmo munayas tvarayanti naḥ
sukha-uṣitāḥ sma = we were happy to stay [here]; bhagavan = O powerful [sage]; tvayā = you; pūjyena = who are honorable; pūjitāḥ = have honored us; āpṛcchāmaḥ = we seek permission [from you to leave]; prayāsyāmaḥ = [and so] we have to leave [now]; munayaḥ = the sages; tvarayanti = are hurrying; naḥ = us.
“O powerful [sage], we were happy to stay [here]. You who are honorable have honored us. We seek permission [from you to leave]. The sages are hurrying us [and so] we have to leave [now].
