Chapter 8: Śrī Rāma Departs From Sutīkṣṇa’s Āśrama
Text 3.8.11
सुभगा खलु कौसल्या यस्याः पुत्रोऽभिषेक्ष्यते।
यौवराज्येन महता श्वः पुष्येण द्विजोत्तमैः॥
ariṣṭaṁ gaccha panthānaṁ rāma saumitriṇā saha
sītayā cānayā sārdhaṁ chāyayevānuvṛttayā
ariṣṭam = without any difficulty; gaccha = go; panthānam = on the path; rāma = Rāma; saumitriṇā = Lakṣmaṇa; saha = with; sītayā ca anayā sārdham = and Sītā; chāyayā = a shadow; iva = like; anuvṛttayā = who follows [You].
Rāma, go on the path without any difficulty with Lakṣmaṇa and Sītā who follows [You] like a shadow.
The sage thus permits that Rāvaṇa be conquered.
