Chapter 9: Sītā Requests Rāma to Give up His Weapons
Text 3.9.16
पुरा किल महाबाहो तपस्वी सत्यवाक्छुचिः।
कस्मिंश्चिदभवत्पुण्ये वने रतमृगद्विजे॥
purā kila mahā-bāho tapasvī satya-vāk chuciḥ
kasmiṁścid abhavat puṇye vane rata-mṛga-dvije
purā kila1 mahā-bāho = O mighty-armed; tapasvī = ascetic; satya-vāk = truthful in speech; śuciḥ = pure; kasmiṁścit = a; abhavat = there was; puṇye = in a pious; vane = forest; rata-mṛga-dvije = filled with happy deer and birds.
O mighty-armed, there was a pure ascetic, truthful in speech, in a pious forest filled with happy deer and birds.
