तत्रागस्त्याश्रमपदं गत्वा योजनमन्तरम्।
रमणीये वनोद्देशे बहुपादपसंवृते॥
रंस्यते तत्र वैदेही लक्ष्मणश्च सह त्वया।
स हि रम्यो वनोद्देशो बहुपादपसङ्कुलः॥
tatra agastya-āśrama-padaṁ gatvā yojanam antaram
ramaṇīye vanoddeśe bahu-pādapa-saṁvṛte
raṁsyate tatra vaidehī lakṣmaṇaś ca saha tvayā
sa hi ramyo vanoddeśo bahu-pādapa-saṅkulaḥ
tatra = on that pathway; agastya-āśrama-padam = [You will reach] the āśrama of Agastya; gatvā = after crossing; yojanam antaram = a yojana; ramaṇīye = in a pleasant; vana-uddeśe = spot in the forest; bahu-pādapa-saṁvṛte = covered over with several shade-giving trees; raṁsyate = will be delighted; tatra = with that place; vaidehī = Vaidehī; lakṣmaṇaḥ = Lakṣmaṇa; ca = and; saha tvayā = and You; saḥ = that; hi = because; ramyaḥ = pleasurable; vana-uddeśaḥ = part of the forest; bahu-pādapa-saṅkulaḥ = is crowded with many shade-giving trees.
After crossing a yojana on that pathway, [You will reach] the āśrama of Agastya in a pleasant spot in the forest covered over with several shade-giving trees. Vaidehī, Lakṣmaṇa and You will be delighted with that place because that pleasurable part of the forest is crowded with many shade-giving trees.
After crossing a space of one yojana in a non-forest area, Rāma would reach Agastya’s āśrama.
