Chapter 11: Rāma Goes to Agastya’s Āśrama
Text 3.11.49
एतदेवाश्रमपदं नूनं तस्य महात्मनः।
अगस्त्यस्य मुनेर्भ्रातुर्दृश्यते पुण्यकर्मणः॥
etad evāśrama-padaṁ nūnaṁ tasya mahātmanaḥ
agastyasya muner bhrātur dṛśyate puṇya-karmaṇaḥ
etat eva = here; āśrama-padam = the āśrama area; nūnam = does; tasya = belong to the; mahā-ātmanaḥ = great soul; agastyasya = of Agastya; muneḥ = Muni; bhrātuḥ = the brother; dṛśyate = seen; puṇya-karmaṇaḥ = of pious acts.
Does the āśrama area seen here belong to the great soul of pious acts, the brother of Agastya Muni?1
1 Rāmāyaṇa-bhūṣaṇa: nūnam iti vitarke. yad āśrama-padaṁ dṛśyate etan muner nūnam ity anvayaḥ.
