Chapter 11: Rāma Goes to Agastya’s Āśrama
Text 3.11.78
हस्तिहस्तैर्विमृदितान्वानरैरुपशोभितान्।
मत्तैः शकुनिसङ्घैश्च शतशश्च प्रणादितान्॥
hasti-hastair vimṛditān vānarair upaśobhitān
mattaiḥ śakuni-saṅghaiś ca śataśaś ca praṇāditān
hasti-hastaiḥ = by the trunks of elephants; vimṛditān = the trees had been broken; vānaraiḥ = monkeys; upaśobhitān = adorned; mattaiḥ = with intoxicated; śakuni-saṅghaiḥ ca = of flocks of birds; śataśaḥ = of hundreds; ca = and; praṇāditān = filled with the loud chirps.
The trees had been broken by the trunks of elephants, adorned with intoxicated monkeys and filled with the loud chirps of hundreds of flocks of birds.
