स प्रविश्य मुनिश्रेष्ठं तपसा ढुष्प्रधर्षणम्।
कृताञ्जलिरुवाचेदं रामागमनमञ्जसा।
यथोक्तं लक्ष्मणेनैव शिष्योऽगस्त्यस्य सम्मतः॥
sa praviśya muni-śreṣṭhaṁ tapasā duṣpradharṣaṇam
kṛtāñjalir uvācedaṁ rāmāgamanam añjasā
yathoktaṁ lakṣmaṇenaiva śiṣyo ’gastyasya sammataḥ
saḥ = the; praviśya = having gone in; muni-śreṣṭham = the excellent sage; tapasā = due to austerity; duṣpradharṣaṇam = who was unassailable; kṛta-añjaliḥ = joined his palms; uvāca = told; idam rāma-āgamanam = about Rāma’s arrival; añjasā = and quickly; yathā-uktam = exactly as spoken; lakṣmaṇena eva = by Lakṣmaṇa; śiṣyaḥ = disciple; agastyasya = of Agastya; sammataḥ = respected.
Having gone in, the respected disciple of Agastya joined his palms and quickly told the excellent sage, who was unassailable due to austerity, about Rāma’s arrival exactly as spoken by Lakṣmaṇa.
