Chapter 12: Agastya Requests Rāma to Protect the Sages
Text 3.12.45
अगस्त्येनैवमुक्तस्तु काकुत्स्थो वाक्यमब्रवीत्।
मानिताः स्म यथान्यायं त्वया पूज्येन पूजिताः॥
agastyenaivam uktas tu kākutstho vākyam abravīt
mānitāḥ sma yathā-nyāyaṁ tvayā pūjyena pūjitāḥ
agastyena = Agastya; evam = this; uktaḥ tu = when said; kākutsthaḥ = the descendant of Kakutstha; vākyam = these words; abravīt = spoke; mānitāḥ sma = we have been honored; yathā-nyāyam = appropriately; tvayā = by you; pūjyena = who are meant to be worshipped; pūjitāḥ = and worshipped.
When Agastya said this, the descendant of Kakutstha spoke these words: We have been appropriately honored and worshipped by you who are meant to be worshipped.
