Chapter 12: Agastya Requests Rāma to Protect the Sages
Text 3.12.49
धन्यस्ते जनको राम स राजा रघुनन्दन।
यस्त्वया ज्येष्ठपुत्रेण ययातिरिव तारितः॥
dhanyas te janako rāma sa rājā raghu-nandana
yas tvayā jyeṣṭha-putreṇa yayātir iva tāritaḥ
dhanyaḥ = is fortunate; te = Your; janakaḥ = father; rāma = Rāma; saḥ = that; rājā raghu-nandana = O beloved descendant of Raghu; yaḥ = king; tvayā = by You; jyeṣṭha-putreṇa = his eldest son; yayātiḥ = Yayāti; iva = like; tāritaḥ = has been delivered.
Rāma, O beloved descendant of Raghu, Your father is fortunate. Like Yayāti, that king has been delivered by You, his eldest son.
