Chapter 12: Agastya Requests Rāma to Protect the Sages
Text 3.12.67
अस्माद्धि कारणाद्राम दण्डकारण्यवासिनाम्।
त्राणार्थमिह संप्राप्तस्त्रातुमर्हति नो भवान्॥
asmād dhi kāraṇād rāma daṇḍakāraṇya-vāsinām
trāṇārtham iha samprāptas trātum arhati no bhavān
asmāt hi kāraṇāt = it is for this reason; rāma = Rāma; daṇḍakāraṇya-vāsinām = the residents of Daṇḍakāraṇya; trāṇa-artham = to save; iha = here; samprāptaḥ = that You have come; trātum = save; arhati = should; naḥ = us; bhavān = You.
Rāma, it is for this reason—to save the residents of Daṇḍakāraṇya—that You have come here. You should save us.
