Chapter 13: Rāma Departs for Pañcavaṭī
Text 3.13.13

इतो द्वियोजने तात बहुमूलफलोदकः।
देशो बहुमृगः श्रीमान्पञ्चवट्यभिविश्रुतः॥

ito dvi-yojane tāta bahu-mūla-phalodakaḥ
deśo bahu-mṛgaḥ śrīmān pañcavaṭy abhiviśrutaḥ

itaḥ = from here; dvi-yojane = two yojanas; tāta = my child; bahu-mūla-phala-udakaḥ = it has plenty of roots, fruits and water; deśaḥ = is a place; bahu-mṛgaḥ = is filled with many deer; śrīmān = that beautiful place; pañcavaṭī = as Pañcavaṭī; abhiviśrutaḥ = very famous.

My child, two yojanas from here is a place very famous as Pañcavaṭī. It has plenty of roots, fruits and water. That beautiful place is filled with many deer.

Pañcavaṭī signifies the place where there were five banyan trees.
