Chapter 14: Śrī Rāma Meets Jaṭāyu
Text 3.14.27
ततो दुहितरौ राम सुरभिर्द्वे व्यजायत।
रोहिणीं नाम भद्रं ते गन्धर्वीं च यशस्विनीम्॥
tato duhitarau rāma surabhir dve vyajāyata
rohiṇīṁ nāma bhadraṁ te gandharvīṁ ca yaśasvinīm
tataḥ duhitarau = daughters; rāma = O Rāma; surabhiḥ = Surabhi; dve = to two; vyajāyata = gave birth; rohiṇīm = Rohiṇī; nāma = named; bhadram = may there be auspiciousness; te = unto You; gandharvīm = Gandharvī; ca = and; yaśasvinīm = the illustrious.
O Rāma, may there be auspiciousness unto You! Surabhi gave birth to two daughters named Rohiṇī and the illustrious Gandharvī.
