Chapter 15: Lakṣmaṇa Constructs an Āśrama for Rāma in Pañcavaṭī
Text 3.15.24
ततः पष्पबलिं कृत्वा शान्तिं च स यथाविधि।
दर्शयामास रामाय तदाश्रमपदं कृतम्॥
tataḥ puṣpa-baliṁ kṛtvā śāntiṁ ca sa yathā-vidhi
darśayām āsa rāmāya tad āśrama-padaṁ kṛtam
tataḥ = and then; puṣpa-balim kṛtvā = performed the vāstu-pūjā; śāntim = vāstu-śānti; ca = and; saḥ = He; yathā-vidhi = according to the regulations of the vāstu-śāstras; darśayām āsa = showed; rāmāya = to Rāma; tat = the; āśrama-padam = hermitage; kṛtam = that He had constructed.
He performed the vāstu-pūjā and vāstu-śānti according to the regulations of the vāstu-śāstras and then showed the hermitage that He had constructed to Rāma.
Vāstu-śānti is a ritual to invoke prosperity.
