Chapter 21: Śūrpaṇakhā Impels Khara to Attack Rāma
Text 3.21.21
स हि तेजःसमायुक्तो रामो दशरथात्मजः।
भ्राता चास्य महावीर्यो येन चास्मि विरूपिता॥
sa hi tejaḥ-samāyukto rāmo daśarathātmajaḥ
bhrātā cāsya mahā-vīryo yena cāsmi virūpitā
saḥ = that; hi = indeed; tejaḥ-samāyuktaḥ = is endowed with prowess; rāmaḥ = Rāma; daśaratha-ātmajaḥ = the son of Daśaratha; bhrātā = brother; ca = also; asya = His; mahā-vīryaḥ = is greatly heroic; yena ca = who; asmi virūpitā = deformed me.
Indeed that Rāma, the son of Daśaratha, is endowed with prowess. His brother who deformed me is also greatly heroic.
