Chapter 22: Khara and Others Depart to kill Rāma
Text 3.22.18
खरस्तु तान्महेष्वासानघोरवर्मायुधध्वजान्।
निर्यातेत्यब्रवीद्धृष्टो रथस्थः सर्वराक्षसान्॥
kharas tu tān maheṣvāsān ghora-varmāyudha-dhvajān
niryātety abravīd dhṛṣṭo rathasthaḥ sarva-rākṣasān
kharaḥ tu = Khara; tān = them; mahā-iṣvāsān = had great bows; ghora-varma-āyudha-dhvajān = and other weapons, they wore terrible armors and held flags; niryāta iti = go; abravīt = ordered; hṛṣṭaḥ = happily; rathasthaḥ = standing on his chariot; sarva-rākṣasān = all the rākṣasas.
All the rākṣasas had great bows and other weapons. They wore terrible armors and held flags. Standing on his chariot, Khara happily ordered them: Go!
