Chapter 22: Khara and Others Depart to kill Rāma
Text 3.22.23
तांस्त्वभिद्रवतो दृष्ट्वा राक्षसान्भीमविक्रमान्।
खरस्यापि रथः किंचिज्जगाम तदनन्तरम्॥
tāṁs tv abhidravato dṛṣṭvā rākṣasān bhīma-vikramān
kharasyāpi rathaḥ kiñcij jagāma tad-anantaram
tān tu = those; abhidravataḥ = rushing forward; dṛṣṭvā = upon seeing; rākṣasān = rākṣasas; bhīma-vikramān = tremendously powerful; kharasya = Khara’s; api = chariot; rathaḥ kiñcit jagāma = jerked forward; tat-anantaram = then.
Upon seeing those tremendously powerful rākṣasas rushing forward, Khara’s chariot then jerked forward.
The chariot slighly moved forward, without the permission of Khara, because of the crowded [march] of the army.
