Chapter 22: Khara and Others Depart to kill Rāma
Text 3.22.25

स चोदितो रथः शीघ्रं खरस्य रिपुघातिनः।
शब्देनापूरयामास दिशश्च प्रदिशस्तदा॥

sa codito rathaḥ śīghraṁ kharasya ripu-ghātinaḥ
śabdenāpūrayām āsa diśaś ca pradiśas tadā

saḥ = the; coditaḥ = impelled [by the charioteer]; rathaḥ = chariot; śīghram = quickly; kharasya = of Khara; ripu-ghātinaḥ = who slew his enemies; śabdena = with the sound of its wheels; āpūrayām āsa = filled; diśaḥ = all the [four] directions; ca = and; pradiśaḥ tadā = [the four] intermediate directions.

Impelled [by the charioteer], the chariot of Khara, who slew his enemies quickly, filled all the [four] directions and [the four] intermediate directions with the sound of its wheels.1

1 The four directions are north, south, east and west. The four intermediate directions are north-east, south-east, north-west and south-west.
