Chapter 23: Khara Disregards Evil Omens on the Way
Text 3.23.13

प्रवाति मारुतः शीघ्रं निष्प्रभोऽभूद्दिवाकरः।
उत्पेतुश्च विना रात्रिं ताराः खद्योतसप्रभाः॥

pravāti mārutaḥ śīghraṁ niṣprabho ’bhūd divākaraḥ
utpetuś ca vinā rātriṁ tārāḥ khadyota-saprabhāḥ

pravāti = blew unfavorably; mārutaḥ = the wind; śīghram = quickly and; niṣprabhaḥ = lost its illumination; abhūt = became; divākaraḥ = The sun; utpetuḥ ca = shone; vinā rātrim = even though it was not night; tārāḥ = stars; khadyota-saprabhāḥ = with illumination that moved about.

The wind blew quickly and unfavorably. The sun lost its illumination. Stars shone with illumination that moved about even though it was not night.1
