Chapter 23: Khara Disregards Evil Omens on the Way
Text 3.23.21
तारा अपि शरैस्तीक्ष्णैः पातयामि नभःस्थलात्।
मृत्युं मरणधर्मेण सङ्क्रुद्धो योजयाम्यहम् ॥
tārā api śarais tīkṣṇaiḥ pātayāmi nabhaḥ-sthalāt
mṛtyuṁ maraṇa-dharmeṇa saṅkruddho yojayāmy aham
tārāḥ = the stars; api = even; śaraiḥ = arrows; tīkṣṇaiḥ = with my sharp; pātayāmi = I will cause to fall; nabhaḥ-sthalāt = from the sky; mṛtyum = to death [himself]; maraṇa-dharmeṇa = death; saṅkruddhaḥ = in anger; yojayāmi = will bring; aham = I.
With my sharp arrows, I will even cause the stars to fall from the sky. In anger, I will bring death to death [himself]!
