हयान्काञ्चनसन्नाहान्रथयुक्तान्ससारथीन्।
गजांश्च सगजारोहान्सहयान्सादिनस्तथा।
चिच्छिदुर्बिभिदुश्चैव रामबाणा गुणच्युताः॥
hayān kāñcana-sannāhān ratha-yuktān sasārathīn
gajāṁś ca sagajārohān sahayān sādinas tathā
cicchiduḥ bibhiduḥ ca eva rāma-bāṇā guṇa-cyutāḥ
hayān = horses; kāñcana-sannāhān = decorated with gold; ratha-yuktān = and bound to chariots; sa-sārathīn = along with their charioteers; gajān ca = elephants; sa-gaja-ārohān = with their niṣāda riders; sa-hayān = with their horses; sādinaḥ = horsemen; tathā = and; cicchiduḥ = cut; bibhiduḥ = pierced; ca eva = and; rāma-bāṇāḥ = Rāma’s arrows; guṇa-cyutāḥ = shot from His bowstring.
Shot from His bowstring, Rāma’s arrows cut and pierced horses decorated with gold and bound to chariots along with their charioteers, elephants with their niṣāda riders and horsemen with their horses.1
