sa papāta hato bhūmau viṭapīva mahā-drumaḥ
sthūlākṣasyākṣiṇī tīkṣṇaiḥ pūrayām āsa sāyakaiḥ

saḥ = Pramāthī; papāta = fell; hataḥ = slain [thus]; bhūmau = on the ground; viṭapī = with [many] branches; iva = like; mahā-drumaḥ = a great tree; sthūlākṣasya = of Sthūlākṣa; akṣiṇī = the eyes; tīkṣṇaiḥ = with sharp; pūrayām āsa = [Rāma] stuffed; sāyakaiḥ = arrows.

Slain [thus], Pramāthī fell on the ground like a great tree with [many] branches. [Rāma] stuffed the eyes of Sthūlākṣa with sharp arrows.1

1 Sthūlākṣa literally means “One with large eyes.” Lord Rāma stuffed the two large eyes of this rākṣasa with His arrows.
