Chapter 27: Rāma Kills Triśirā
Text 3.27.18
स भूमौ रुधिरोद्गारी रामबाणाभिपीडितः।
न्यपतत्पतितैः पूर्वं स्वशिरोभिर्निशाचरः॥
sa bhūmau rudhirodgārī rāma-bāṇābhipīḍitaḥ
nyapatat patitaiḥ pūrvaṁ sva-śirobhir niśācaraḥ
saḥ = the; bhūmau = on the ground; rudhira-udgārī = while pouring forth blood; rāma-bāṇa-abhipīḍitaḥ = upon being tormented by Rāma’s arrows; nyapatat = fell; patitaiḥ pūrvam = had fallen off; sva-śirobhiḥ = since his heads; niśācaraḥ = night-ranger.
Since his heads had fallen off, the night-ranger fell on the ground while pouring forth blood upon being tormented by Rāma’s arrows.
