Chapter 28: Śrī Rāma Attacks Khara
Text 3.28.7
स सायकैर्दुर्विषहैः सस्फुलिङ्गैरिवाग्निभिः।
नभश्चकाराविवरं पर्जन्य इव वृष्टिभिः॥
sa sāyakair durviṣahaiḥ sasphuliṅgair ivāgnibhiḥ
nabhaś cakārāvivaraṁ parjanya iva vṛṣṭibhiḥ
saḥ = Rāma; sāyakaiḥ = arrows; durviṣahaiḥ = with insufferable; sa-sphuliṅgaiḥ = with sparks; iva = that resembled; agnibhiḥ = flames; nabhaḥ cakāra avivaram = filled the sky; parjanyaḥ = a cloud; iva = like; vṛṣṭibhiḥ = [that fills the land] with showers of rain.
Like a cloud [that fills the land] with showers of rain, Rāma filled the sky with insufferable arrows that resembled flames with sparks.
