Chapter 28: Śrī Rāma Attacks Khara
Text 3.28.9
शरजालावृतः सूर्यो न तदा स्म प्रकाशते।
अन्योन्यवधसंरम्भादुभयोः संप्रयुध्यतोः॥
śara-jālāvṛtaḥ sūryo na tadā sma prakāśate
anyonya-vadha-saṁrambhād ubhayoḥ samprayudhyatoḥ
śara-jāla-āvṛtaḥ = became covered by a network of arrows; sūryaḥ = the sun; na = not; tadā = at that time; sma prakāśate = and did shine through; anyonya-vadha-saṁrambhāt = with a desire to kill each other 2; ubhayoḥ = when both of them; samprayudhyatoḥ = were at war.
When both of them were at war with a desire to kill each other, the sun became covered by a network of arrows and did not shine through at that time.
