Chapter 29: Rāma Breaks Khara’s Mace
Text 3.29.30
तामापतन्तीं ज्वलितां मृत्युपाशोपमां गदाम्।
अन्तरिक्षगतां रामश्चिच्छेद बहुधा शरैः॥
tām āpatantīṁ jvalitāṁ mṛtyu-pāśopamāṁ gadām
antarikṣa-gatāṁ rāmaś ciccheda bahudhā śaraiḥ
tām = that; āpatantīm = [even] when it was flying [towards Him]; jvalitām = shining; mṛtyu-pāśa-upamām = that resembled the noose of death; gadām = club; antarikṣa-gatām = in the sky; rāmaḥ = Lord Rāmacandra; ciccheda = cut; bahudhā = into many [pieces]; śaraiḥ = with His arrows.
Lord Rāmacandra cut that shining club that resembled the noose of death into many [pieces] with His arrows, [even] when it was flying [towards Him] in the sky.
