Chapter 31: Rāvaṇa’s Conversation with Akampana and Mārīca
Text 3.31.9
दशग्रीवोऽभयं तस्मै प्रददौ रक्षसां वरः।
स विस्रब्धोऽब्रवीद्वाक्यमसन्दिग्धमकम्पनः॥
daśagrīvo ’bhayaṁ tasmai pradadau rakṣasāṁ varaḥ
sa visrabdho ’bravīd vākyam asandigdham akampanaḥ
daśagrīvaḥ = Daśagrīva; abhayam = of security; tasmai = him; pradadau = assured; rakṣasām = of the rākṣasas; varaḥ = the best; saḥ visrabdhaḥ = having gained confidence; abravīt = spoke; vākyam = [the following] words; asandigdham = without any doubt whatsoever; akampanaḥ = Akampana.
Daśagrīva, the best of the rākṣasas, assured him of security. Having gained confidence, Akampana spoke [the following] words without any doubt whatsoever.
