Chapter 31: Rāvaṇa’s Conversation with Akampana and Mārīca
Text 3.31.25
भित्त्वा वेलां समुद्रस्य लोकानाप्लावयेद्विभुः।
वेगं वापि समुद्रस्य वायुं वा विधमेच्छरैः॥
bhittvā velāṁ samudrasya lokān āplāvayed vibhuḥ
vegaṁ vāpi samudrasya vāyuṁ vā vidhamec charaiḥ
bhittvā = breaking; velām = the boundaries; samudrasya = of the ocean; lokān = the worlds; āplāvayet = can flood; vibhuḥ = mighty Rāma; vegam = the force; vā api samudrasya = of the ocean; vāyum = the wind; vā = or; vidhamet = He can burn up; śaraiḥ = with His arrows.
Breaking the boundaries of the ocean, mighty Rāma can flood the worlds. He can burn up the force of the ocean or the wind with His arrows.1
