Chapter 31: Rāvaṇa’s Conversation with Akampana and Mārīca

स रथो राक्षसेन्द्रस्य नक्षत्रपतगो महान्।
सञ्चार्यमाणः शुशुभे जलदे चन्द्रमा इव॥
sa ratho rākṣasendrasya nakṣatra-patago mahān
sañcāryamāṇaḥ śuśubhe jalade candramā iva
saḥ = that; rathaḥ = chariot; rākṣasa-indrasya = of the lord of the rākṣasas; nakṣatra-patagaḥ = along the pathway of the sky; mahān = huge; sañcāryamāṇaḥ = taken; śuśubhe = shone; jalade = on a cloud; candramāḥ = the moon; iva = like.
Taken along the pathway of the sky, that huge chariot of the lord of the rākṣasas shone like the moon on a cloud.
