Chapter 32: Śūrpaṇakhā Goes to Meet Rāvaṇa

स्निग्धवैडूर्यसङ्काशं तप्तकाञ्चनकुण्डलम्।
सुभुजं शुक्लदशनं महास्यं पर्वतोपमम्॥
snigdha-vaiḍūrya-saṅkāśaṁ tapta-kāñcana-kuṇḍalam
subhujaṁ śukla-daśanaṁ mahāsyaṁ parvatopamam
snigdha-vaiḍūrya-saṅkāśam = he shone with the hue of the brilliant cat’s eye gems in his ornaments; tapta-kāñcana-kuṇḍalam = he wore earrings of molten gold; subhujam = had long and round arms; śukla-daśanam = white teeth; mahā-āsyam = and a large face; parvata-upamam = he appeared like a hill.
He shone with the hue of the brilliant vaiḍūrya gems in his ornaments.1 He wore earrings of molten gold, had long and round arms, white teeth and a large face. He appeared like a hill.
