Chapter 34: Rāvaṇa’s Conversation With Śūrpaṇakhā

तप्तकाञ्चनवर्णाभा रक्ततुङ्गनखी शुभा।
सीता नाम वरारोहा वैदेही तनुमध्यमा॥
tapta-kāñcana-varṇābhā rakta-tuṅga-nakhī śubhā
sītā nāma varārohā vaidehī tanu-madhyamā
tapta-kāñcana-varṇa-ābhā = she shines with the complexion of molten gold; rakta-tuṅga-nakhī = and has red, prominent nails; śubhā = is auspicious; sītā = Sītā; nāma = named; vara-ārohā = and beautiful; vaidehī = princess of Videha; tanu-madhyamā = that slender-waisted.
She shines with the complexion of molten gold and has red, prominent nails. Named Sītā, that slender-waisted princess of Videha is auspicious and beautiful.
