Chapter 42: Mārīca Becomes an Enchanting Deer
Text 3.42.24
पुनर्गत्वा निवृत्तश्च विचचार मृगोत्तमः।
गत्वा मुहूर्तं त्वरया पुनः प्रतिनिवर्तते॥
punar gatvā nivṛttaś ca vicacāra mṛgottamaḥ
gatvā muhūrtaṁ tvarayā punaḥ pratinivartate
punaḥ = again; gatvā = went forward; nivṛttaḥ = came back; ca = and; vicacāra = and wandered about [here and there]; mṛga-uttamaḥ = the excellent deer; gatvā = he went forward; muhūrtam = after a while; tvarayā = quickly; punaḥ = again; pratinivartate = and returned.
The excellent deer came back and again went forward, and wandered about [here and there]. After a while, he quickly went forward again and returned.
