Chapter 43: Sītā Sees the Magical Deer
Text 3.43.26
प्रतिलोमानुलोमाश्च रुचिरा रोमराजयः।
शोभन्ते मृगमाश्रित्य चित्राः कनकबिन्दुभिः॥
pratilomānulomāś ca rucirā roma-rājayaḥ
śobhante mṛgam āśritya citrāḥ kanaka-bindubhiḥ
pratiloma-anulomāḥ = the slanting and straight; ca = and; rucirāḥ = glossy; roma-rājayaḥ = hair; śobhante = beautiful; mṛgam āśritya = on the deer; citrāḥ = are astonishing; kanaka-bindubhiḥ = along with gold-colored spots [on the skin].
The slanting and straight hair along with gold-colored spots [on the skin] are astonishing, glossy and beautiful on the deer.
