Chapter 46: Rāvaṇa Disguises Himself and Approaches Sītā
Text 3.46.14
तामुत्तमां स्त्रियं लोके पद्महीनामिव श्रियम्।
विभ्राजमानां वपुषा रावणः प्रशशंस ह॥
tām uttamāṁ striyaṁ loke padma-hīnām iva śriyam
vibhrājamānāṁ vapuṣā rāvaṇaḥ praśaśaṁsa ha
tām = that; uttamām = who was excellent; striyam = lady; loke = in the world; padma-hīnām = without her lotus; iva = and she seemed to be; śriyam = Śrī; vibhrājamānām = her body was shining; vapuṣā rāvaṇaḥ = Rāvaṇa; praśaśaṁsa ha = praised.
Rāvaṇa praised that lady who was excellent in the world. Her body was shining and she seemed to be Śrī without her lotus.
