Chapter 48: Sītā-devī Condemns Rāvaṇa
Text 3.48.8
यत्र तिष्ठाम्यहं तत्र मारुतो वाति शङ्कितः।
तीव्रांशुः शिशिरांशुश्च भयात्सम्पद्यते रविः॥
yatra tiṣṭhāmy ahaṁ tatra māruto vāti śaṅkitaḥ
tīvrāṁśuḥ śiśirāṁśuś ca bhayāt sampadyate raviḥ
yatra = where; tiṣṭhāmi = stand; aham = I; tatra = in the place; mārutaḥ = the wind; vāti = blows; śaṅkitaḥ = fearfully; tīvra-aṁśuḥ = the fierce rays; śiśira-aṁśuḥ = cool; ca = and; bhayāt = out of fear [of me]; sampadyate = become; raviḥ = of the sun.
The wind blows fearfully in the place where I stand and out of fear [of me], the fierce rays of the sun become cool.1
